“An anime about terrorism?” Sounds thrilling alright, but sadly it turned out to be quite a train wreck with lose plot and lackluster characters in the long run. The plot, or rather the premise, was what caught my attention and interest at first. Just make sure that I will NOT be able to hideĪll possible spoilers, so just read this review if you have already finished the show or dropped it and don’t consider picking it up again! Or if you just don’t care about spoilers. The show also gained a bit of a hype because of the famous Shinichiro Watanabe (Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop), who I am in all honesty no big fan of, but okay, let's get this review started. Zankyou no Terror (Terror in Resonance or Terror in Tokyo in English) was one of my most anticipated titles of the season and I am sure I was not alone. How much did I praise you during the early few episodes, but how could I know that you will turn out how you did. They should not exist, yet they stand strong in a world of deception and secrets while they make the city fall around them, all in the hopes of burying their own tragic truth. Zankyou no Terror tells the story of Nine and Twelve, the two boys behind the masked figures of Sphinx. Unable to stop the mass panic quickly spreading through the city and desperate for any leads in their investigation, the police struggle to act effectively against these terrorists, with Detective Kenjirou Shibazaki caught in the middle of it all. In it, two teenage boys who identify themselves only as "Sphinx" directly challenge the police, threatening to cause destruction and mayhem across Tokyo. The public are clueless-until, six months later, a strange video makes its way onto the internet.

The government is shattered by their inability to act, and the police are left frantically searching for ways to crack down the perpetrators. She can also be clumsy on occasion.Painted in red, the word "VON" is all that is left behind after a terrorist attack on a nuclear facility in Japan. At the same time, she is persevering and courageous when it comes to executing their operations. Despite knowing the fact that Nine and Twelve are terrorists, she feels a connection with them. At the same time, she tends to keep all her school and domestic problems to herself.
She is quiet and introverted and because of this, she is often bullied in class. Mishima Risa (三島 リサ Mishima Risa) – She attends the same school that the transfer students Nine and Twelve attend. Despite his childish demeanor, he can be ruthless and can develop violent methods if the situation warrants it. He has soft facial features and has an impressive memory. He is skilled when it comes to operating motorbikes and snowmobiles. Twelve (ツエルブ Tsuerubu) – He is portrayed in Zankyou no Terror as a childish but mysterious young man who sees Nine as a brother and is the second person in the group called “Sphinx”. He wears a pair of glasses and prefers to don dark clothing. A special characteristic of Nine is that he has a knack for devising criminal schemes while being able to cover his tracks using his exceptional computing and hacking skills. He attends the same high school that Lisa and Twelve attends and is the mastermind behind the group “Sphinx”. Nine (ナイン Nain) – is a secretive young man who is intelligent and has a calm demeanor who can be stoic and calculating. Sworn to secrecy, she finds herself accompanying the two in accomplishing their plans of “waking up the world”. While the world attempts to identify and apprehend the terrorists, Mishima Risa meets two enigmatic individuals Kokonoe Arata (九重 新) and Hisami Touji (久見 冬二) in the high school where she attends who is actually the ones responsible for the bombing of Tokyo. The police were helpless and the population of Tokyo has succumbed to paranoia. In a fictional version of the present society, Tokyo has been plunged into chaos by a terrorist attack and the only hint on the terrorist’s identities would be the video that the culprits who call themselves “Sphinx” uploaded in the internet.
The animation was directed by Shinichirou Watanabe.
Zankyou no Terror anime started airing on July 10th, 2014 and ended on September 25th, 2014 and has 11 episodes.
